Training School: “Integrated approach to retrofitting existing dwellings”

The Training School “Integrated approach to retrofitting existing dwellings” took place in Belgrade, Serbia, from Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd April 2015 and was organised and funded by the COST Action Smart Energy Regions. The Training School was focused at the improvement of the environmental and energy performance of existing neighbourhoods at a regional scale.

The trainers who brought their expertise to the School were:
•    Prof. Aleksandra Djukic, Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, Serbia;
•    Prof. Aleksandra Krstic-Furundzic, Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, Serbia;
•    Arch. Luis Bajaras, Polytechnic University of Catalunya, Spain;
•    Arch. Giuseppe La Ferla, Chapman Taylor España, Spain;
•    Dr. Slobodan Lukovic, University of Lugano, Switzerland.

The main goal of the Training School was to offer an opportunity to reflect upon about how retrofitting of neighborhoods can contribute to energy and environmental improvement of regions in a different context whilst enabling attendees to interact with other researchers from across Europe.

16 trainees (of which 15 were Early Stage Researchers) from different European countries participated to the Training School. The trainees were asked to work in groups on projects on the application of the techniques and tools introduced through the training. Their presentations are collected here together with a presentation by Prof. A.Djukic about the delivery if the Training School.
