I personally am (or have been) involved in the following topics :

  • Development of decision making tools to design new buildings or to renovate existing ones with the objective of the most efficient energy – and environmental – performance

  • Scientific expert of previous Walloon Minister (in charge of translation of EPB Directive 2002/91/CE in regional law), for communication with all economic and professional actors of construction sector (materials and systems producers, architects, contractors…)

  • EPB facilitator (for the Walloon region, i.e. South part of Belgium) for professional actors, in order to help them in applying the EPB regional requirements

  • Among others, in a research project introducing improved construction technologies in energy renovation of existing residential buildings, with collaboration of industrial partners (ArcelorMittal, Knauf, Aldes…)

  • Practical Guides for architects : Edited by Wallonia, in 5.000 copies – except for the first handbook (15.000), the second and the third (10.000) – , these 9 practical guides have for objective to help the architect author of project, integrating efficiently the energy approach in his (her) common design process. They constitute an appreciated reference in construction techniques in the scientific French literature. They are downloadable from energy Wallonia web-site http://energie.wallonie.be.  For example, the last one: J.-M. HAUGLUSTAINE, F. SIMON, C. BALTUS, S.
