May 2013 - Conference Grant Success

Fernanda Acre Pacheco has been successful with her application for a Conference Grant from the Domain Committee of Transport and Urban Development.

She will receive almost Euros2000 to attend the CESB13 Central Europe Towards Sustainable Building from 26-28 June 2013 in Prague. Fernanda will present the paper 'Spatial Quality Indicators for Energy Efficiency renovation of residential building blocks'.

Logo Competition winners experiences at COST meeting in Barcelona

Matteo Andreotolla - winner

'Thanks to my professor Rossano Albatici I was able to take part in the design contest promoted by Smart Energy Regions to design a logo for the COST action. I put lots of effort in it because I realized it would be a great chance to learn something more about sustainability, which is a theme in which I am really interested in. The prize was the chance to take part at the meeting in Barcelona.

Logo Competition winner and runner up announced

Thanks to all of the students who entered the Smart Energy Regions logo competition. The MC would like to congratulate all entries on the high quality of logo designs and reports that were prepared.

Following an anonymous vote by the core MC of the Action the results are as follows:

Winner: Matteo Adreottola, University of Trento.

Runner up: Amber Luscombe, Cardiff University.

Logo Competition - Deadline

Prize - trip to Barcelona in November and design to be used as official Smart Energy Regions logo.

The Action is currently running a competition for students to design a logo to be used to represent the Action on all publicity material. Students from partner organisations are invited to design a logo to highlight the Actions identity and prepare a two page report to accompany the logo that summarises a 'Smart Energy Region'.

'As a first time visitor to Barcelona, I found it inspiring and unique. Visiting Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia was the highlight of the trip, standing at the very top at sunset was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Gaudi’s Guell Park was also a highlight, together with absorbing the general atmosphere and life of the city through the everyday Architecture.
